In praise of an old friend.....

One of the mainstay components of Ratcliffe's (fast disappearing) IT System is our main Novell fileserver 'RATPS1'. This is the machine which authenticates your login, and has held everyone's home directories and files. This locally supplied and built, locally supported, non-standardized piece of kit, has now been running continuously for 501 days. As most of the other servers on site are lucky to run for a couple of weeks without a hiccup of some kind, the (fast disappearing) IT Support department felt that a little public recognition for an old friend would not be out of place!
